10 Craft Ideas To Do With Care Bears Coloring Pages
Care Bears are famous worldwide and make a great craft theme.
Here are ten fun and affordable crafts to do with those finished pages.
1. What’s in a Rainbow?
Start this craft with ordinary paper plates, and have the youngsters color them from the outer edges to the center in rainbow shades.
When folded in half, this makes a perfect two-sided rainbow. At the bottom of each arc, glue three cotton ball “clouds” and punch a hole at the top.
The children should color and cut out their Care Bears, gluing them inside the folded rainbows to burst out when opened.
Tie the rainbow shut with yarn bows, using the holes at the top, and they can be opened and closed whenever the youngsters like!
2. Homemade Message Notebooks
When each youngster has colored his or her favorite Care Bear, the pages should be glued to pieces of cardboard of the same size.
Using approximately ten sheets of paper, have the children write a short message at the top of each one that coincides with that Care Bear’s persona.
When a piece of cardboard is added for a back cover, the pages should be punched with a three-hole punch, and paper fasteners should be used to create an original Care Bear notebook!
3. Make a Care Bear Dry Erase Board
All that’s necessary for this craft is the coloring page and a small, ordinary, dry-erase board from a discount store. These can usually be purchased very inexpensively.
When the care bear is colored and cut out, it should be glued to the left side of the dry-erase board. Superglue works best for this.
Next, gold star stickers or craft pom-poms should be added to create a border.
Covering the writing side of the board, spray the Care Bear cutout with a coat of acrylic spray, and this dry-erase board will last a long time!
4. Care Bear Balloons
This Care Bear craft is an ideal classroom activity. Using teddy bear-shaped balloons, give each youngster a balloon matching the shade of the Care Bear he or she has colored.
Once the balloons are blown up, the Care Bears should be cut out and carefully glued to the balloons’ surface.
Next, have the youngsters cut ears from plain construction paper, and write their first initial on one and last initial on the other.
These can be added to the balloon ears for an adorable finishing touch.
5. Care Bear Wind Chime
This cute craft begins with an old embroidery hoop to which ten-inch pieces of yarn should be tied.
Have the youngster color and cut out five or six Care Bear characters, trimming each one into an oval shape and sealing it in contact paper.
The yarn or string should be used to attach the cutouts to the embroidery hoop.
When a craft bell is added to the bottom of each cutout with ordinary thread, the child has a Care Bear wind chime!
6. Care Bear Organizer
This craft will delight any child and begins with an empty bathroom tissue cardboard.
When the youngster’s favorite Care Bear is colored, the head and body should be cut out separately.
The body should be glued to the vertically-positioned cardboard roll, with the head glued at the top edge. A cotton ball should be placed in between to make it stick out.
When three or four of these are made and glued together, it becomes a great desktop organizer for crayons, pens, and pencils.
7. Giant Care Bear Craft
Begin this craft by giving each youngster both a large and a small paper plate and some construction paper in the same shade as the Care Bear they’ve colored.
Turn the paper plates upside down, and use the cutouts from the coloring pages to laminate them.
The large paper plate is the body, and the small one’s the head. Add a pom-pom nose, wiggle eyes, and pink felt ears.
Finally, add four construction paper paws, and when all the pieces are glued together, the youngsters have poster-size Care Bears for their rooms.
8. Care Bears on the Clouds
Care Bears are sometimes depicted as being on clouds. This fun classroom craft makes great use of that theme.
Using a large piece of blue poster board, have the youngsters cut clouds out from white construction paper and paste them to the blue background.
When their Care Bears are colored and cut out, they can be added to the individual clouds for a terrific classroom poster.
9. Care Bear Party Decoration
This delightful craft starts with the youngsters spray painting a small square of styrofoam in a bright color.
A large circle should be cut from cardboard, decorated with multicolored glitter, and a craft stick glued to the back.
When the Care Bears are colored and cut out, they should be pasted to the circle’s centers and sealed with one coat of acrylic spray.
On the styrofoam square, the youngster can write “Happy Birthday,” “Merry Christmas,” or whatever message fits the party where this adorable ornament is displayed.
10. Circle of Care Bears
This classroom activity is fun for any age and is super easy to complete.
Divide the youngsters into groups of five or six, and have them fashion a big circle from thin cardboard.
Next, when their Care Bears are colored and cut out, they should be glued to the outer surface of the cardboard, creating a circle of Care Bears.
The cutouts can be embellished with wiggle eyes, glitter, or pom-poms for a colorful classroom decoration.
