Golden Plover – by Angela R.
World Records
The Guinness Book of World Records was started by Sir Hugh Beaver in 1951. He was the managing director of Guinness Breweries in Ireland. He and his buddies got into an argument about which type of game bird is the fastest and he discovered there was no definitive source of information. He published the first book on August 27, 1955 and it holds a record too — the world’s best selling copyrighted book — by selling over 100 million copies.
