Grandma’s Doily – by Lois S.
Doily Details
Doilies are a flat circular mat, usually made of stringed fabric or paper, that are used for protecting surfaces in a decorative way — like under a glass or a bowl. The word comes from a 17th century draper who lived in London, and is based off of his last name. Designs are usually circular or oval, and use a repeating pattern — so just like a mandala!
