10 Craft Ideas to Do With Monsters Inc Coloring Pages

Those adorable Monsters Inc. characters are favorites of many children and are some of the funniest things to color.

Here are 10 affordable, fun, and creative craft ideas you can do with your completed coloring page!

1. A Monster of a Doorknob Ornament

Begin this fun craft with an ordinary paper plate, which the youngsters can color green using finger paint or crayons.

Next, have them color the one-eyed monster, cut the eye and mouth from the finished page, and place them in the center of the paper plate.

Using the same technique, the arms, legs, and ears can be attached in the appropriate places.

With string and a staple, this adorable monster craft can be hung on any door handle for a fun touch.

2. Make a Monsters Inc. Envelope

A Monsters Inc. envelope is easy to make from finished coloring pages.

Using any template, create a plain envelope from white paper. Next, color and cut out the Monster from the page.

Using Krazy glue or rubber cement, affix the monster cutout to the envelope, making sure the mouth is across the area where the envelope will open.

The result will be hilarious because it will look as if the monster is opening his mouth when the envelope is opened!

3. Design a Monster Desktop Craft

For this fun and engaging classroom activity, have each student color his or her favorite character from Monsters Inc. and cut it from the page.

Next, give all the children large paper cups, have them turn them upside down, and laminate them with the Monster cutouts.

Pipe cleaners can be used to attach ears to the top, and colored pom-poms can be glued to the bottom rims as feet.

These ornaments will look adorable on each child’s desk.

4. Make Monster Themed Gift Bags

To make these fun party favor bags, the Monsters should be colored, cut out, and attached to the flattened bags with invisible glue.

After this, they can be embellished with simple cutouts from construction paper.

For example, tiny teeth can be cut from white paper and glued to the monster’s mouth to give it that 3D look.

The same technique can be used to make eyelids, ears, or even an extra eye or two! The bags can then be used for party favors or decoration.

5. Create a Monster Family

For this enjoyable classroom activity, give each student an empty bathroom tissue cardboard and have them paint it the color of their favorite Monsters Inc. character.

Once the Monsters are colored, each individual part can be cut out separately and glued to the construction paper roll.

Craft eyes can be used to embellish the eyes, and crêpe paper, felt, or strips of regular construction paper can be added to the top to complete the character.

Because the cardboards are hollow, it can be used to hold crayons, pencils, or markers!

6. Monster Boxes

This fun craft only requires some small cardboard boxes and a bit of imagination.

Once the page is colored, the Monster should be cut out, and its head laminated to the front of the box.

Then, using rolled-up poster board or pipe cleaners, tiny arms and legs should be added to make a hilarious, abstract Monsters Inc. character with an oversized head.

Since the box is hollow, the youngster can use it to store small craft supplies, crayons, or secret items.

7. Design a Classroom Monster Chain

For this enjoyable craft, have the youngsters color and cut out their favorite Monsters Inc. characters and set them aside.

Next, have them use other coloring pages to create a long paper chain on which to string the Monster cutouts.

This can be done with embroidery thread or thin yarn, and other embellishments can be added in between each monster cutout, such as funny eyeballs or fuzzy hands.

The children can use future coloring pages to make the chain longer and longer until it stretches all around the room!

8. A Unique Group Craft

This craft is fun for a classroom or party and is simple and easy to make.

Have each child design a spooky door from a piece of ordinary construction paper. The door should then be cut on three sides so that it swings open.

The front of the “door” can be decorated any way the child likes.

Once it is ready, it can be placed over the Monsters Inc. coloring page so that it looks as if the door is being opened to let in a monster!

9. A Monsters Inc. Nightlight

Start with a simple, transparent plastic cup to make a cute Monsters Inc. night light. Any type will do as long as it’s see-through.

Once the Monster is colored and cut out, the youngster should simply cut it to fit the plastic cup and attach it with invisible glue.

When a tea light is put underneath, it becomes an adorable nightlight for the child’s room.

10. Make a Designer Picture Frame

Nothing is cuter for use on a picture frame than Monsters Inc.

Give the child an ordinary frame from a discount store and two separate Monsters Inc. characters to color.

A tall one and a short one work great for this craft. Both cutouts should be laminated with glassine.

The larger one should be glued to the bottom right corner and the smaller one to the upper left corner for an adorable Monsters Inc. picture frame.
