There are over 200 types of owls. The smallest is the elf owl, averaging at about 5 inches tall. The largest is the eagle owl, having a wingspan of about 6.6 feet. They’re typically nocturnal animals, relying on their natural camouflage and sharp vision to capture their prey. Contrary to the popular Harry Potter series, they actually don’t make very good pets.
