Pixie Den – by Varda K.
Pixie Day
There’s a day of celebration known as Pixie Day in Ottery St. Mary, England, celebrating the banishment of pixies from the town. The story is that the local pixies caused some trouble when a bell was to be installed in the local cathedral. They considered the bell install to be a threat to their existence, so they cast a spell on the monks that were carrying the bell. One of the monks stubbed his toe and exclaimed “God bless my soul”, and the spell was broken. The pixies were banished to a nearby cave, now known as the Pixies’ Parlour.
