10 Craft Ideas To Do With Sanrio Coloring Pages

Here are 10 inexpensive, thrilling, and creative craft ideas you can do with your completed coloring page!

10. NYE Or Party Poppers

For your next New Year’s Eve party – or really, any party at all, it doesn’t have to be a national event! – you can turn my Sanrio pictures into party poppers.

To do this, you’ll need as many toilet paper rolls as you want to make poppers, plus tissue paper.

You’re going to lie the tissue paper on a flat surface and roll up the toilet paper within, no more than three times, then tape it down.

Next, you’ll take some ribbon and tie off one end, making a bow. Then you’ll stuff the toilet paper rolls with confetti and/or small charms – anything you want, really.

Tie up the other end the same as the first.

Then you’re going to print out whichever Sanrio characters you want to use, color them in, and cut them out.

Tape or glue them down to the popper. Make sure you have enough to go around so that when the time is right, everyone can pull a popper apart and make it rain festive confetti!

9. Hello Kitty Rings

To make Hello Kitty rings, you’ll need shrink sheets, onto which you’ll print out the character you want to use.

Have your kids color in the characters with markers and then cut them out. You’ll then bake them per your shrink sheets’ instructions.

Once they’ve cooled, you can hot glue them to blank, flat rings (which you can find both in crafting stores and online at Amazon). Get adjustable ring backs so the size is assured!

8. Character Masks

So many of my Sanrio pictures can be turned into adorable character masks, from the Coloring Page of Chococat Waving to Kawaii Kuromi Walking.

You’re going to isolate the head/face by using the rectangular selection and copy/paste that portion into a word processor document.

Then, you can resize it so that it’ll fit your child’s face. Print that out and have your kids color it in and cut it out.

Poke holes on either side of the face and tie off pieces of string that are long enough to meet behind your child’s head and be tied into a bow.

Then you’ll cut out the character’s eyes – so that your child can see out – and you’re done!

7. Pencil Toppers

To make pencil toppers out of my Sanrio pictures, you may want to resize the characters, if they’re larger, to no more than two inches.

You can print those out and have your kids color them in and cut them out, then set them aside.

You can make the part that goes onto the pencil out of paper, but I prefer just to buy plain, smooth pencil toppers that you can glue the characters onto.

6. Hello Kitty Stand-Up Toilet Paper Roll Figure

To make little Hello Kitty stand-ups, you will need empty toilet paper rolls and glue.

You’re going to print out and have your kids color in and cut out the Hello Kitty figures they want to use, separating the heads from the bodies.

Then they’re going to “wrap” the body cut-outs around the toilet paper rolls while gluing the heads on separately so that they overlap the bodies and the rolls.

If your kids want to get really creative, they can also cut out paper flowers or bows and glue them onto Hello Kitty’s head.

5. Sanrio Characters Picture Frame

To make a picture frame using many of my Sanrio character illustrations, you’ll print out the figures you want to use onto shrink sheets.

Then, have your kids color them in and cut them out. You’ll bake the cut-outs per the instructions.

Once they’ve cooled, you can hot glue them to a cheapie picture frame (the dollar store has ideal frames); if you want, you can even paint the frames first.

And you can embellish with glitter or sequins, too!

4. Craft Pom Poms Fill-In Pictures

For this easy craft that is perfect for toddlers and pre-K learning their pincer grasp, you’re going to need lots of craft pom poms in a variety of colors.

Pick a Sanrio picture that is on the simpler side and have your child glue down the pom poms within the lines. They can use white for Hello Kitty or green for Keroppi, etc.

3. Popsicle Stick Bookmarks

To make these popsicle stick bookmarks out of my Sanrio pictures, you’ll choose which figures you want to use and print those out onto cardstock.

Have your kids color them in and cut them out; then, you’ll glue popsicle sticks to the backs of the cut-outs.

Once they’re dry, they’re ready for use!

2. Locker Decorations

Sanrio characters have been popular since I was a kid, and they haven’t lost any of their appeal with tweens and teens today.

So my illustrations make adorable locker decorations; just print them out onto cardstock, color them in, cut them out, and hang them up using tape or even Fun-Tak.

1. Character Fans

To make character fans, you’ll need to buy a pack of folding fans (like the kind they give away at arcades in exchange for tickets won).

You’re going to open the fans and secure them.

Then, you’ll pick which Sanrio characters you want to use and print them out onto shrink sheets.

Have your kids color them in with marker, cut them out, and bake. Once they’ve cooled, you can hot glue them to the middle of the fan, where the handle meets the folds.

These make super cute party favors!
