I usually spend my Sunday preparing the post for Monday Mandala's weekly blog post. I was reading through some news and came across a news item that declared today as the most depressing day of the year. I did a little research and it turns out that the term was completely made up for advertising purposes by a travel company in 2005.
I decided to make my Monday Mandala for today a happy one. I used blue as a main color but added some bright accent colors to make it seem a lot lighter and happier. Kind of like the sun peeking out from time to time on a partly cloudy day.
This particular mandala has a lot more detail in it than what I usually select, and although you can't tell from the image, it's actually a couple of inches smaller. I used very fine-tipped pens, which is also why you can see colored lines. It was a nice meditative afternoon, although I might have been distracted a few times because if you look close, you can see a couple of mistakes. Shh, don't tell anyone! ;-)
