10 Craft Ideas To Do With Heart Templates

Here are 10 affordable, exciting, and creative craft ideas you can do with your heart templates!

10. Valentines

You can use my heart pictures to create cute, inexpensive valentines for your sweetie or classmates come the next holiday.

In fact, the Vertical Heart Folded Card Template and Horizontal Heart Folded Card Template are both ideal – simply print them out onto cardstock, cut them out, and fold them.

But you can also use Heart With Arrow templates, Simple Heart, or even Flying Heart.

Now, if you’re celebrating Galentine’s Day instead of Valentine’s Day and you want to give your pal a Galentine instead, you could also use any of my broken heart templates!

Either way, get creative with lace, glitter, sequins, and even small swatches of fabric, burlap, or velvet.

9. Party Decorations

Whether you’re decorating for a Valentine’s Day party, an anniversary, or the birthday of one you love, you can do so on the cheap using my heart pictures.

But cheap doesn’t have to mean it’s not heartfelt or adorable! You can use the larger hearts as part of a place setting or string up smaller ones as bunting over a doorway.

Layer smaller hearts over larger hearts and hang them on the wall, or print the hearts onto cardstock and stand them up using small wooden stands.

You can do all this and much more (Google for heart decoration inspo!) with just my pictures.

8. Love Letters

Use my larger heart pictures to print out onto red or pink (or green or yellow or purple!) cardstock and then pen the love of your life a beautiful letter.

The larger hearts have ample space for a sweet note, and you can decorate it with lace doilies or embellish it with stickers or stamps.

7. Tree Of Hearts

For this cute craft, you will need one large piece of construction paper plus a piece of brown construction paper.

On the brown paper, you will draw a tree trunk, plus branches, then cut that out and paste it to the whole piece of construction paper (which can be in any color you want).

Then you’re going to print out hearts (I recommend smaller ones) onto differently colored cardstock: pink and red, for sure, but you could also use purple, yellow, and even green.

Cut out the hearts and start gluing them onto the branches, alternating colors.

When you’re done, you have a lovely tree of hearts that you can display on your wall or your fridge.

6. Heart Man

This is a fun craft for preschoolers and kindergartners, and it gives them something to play with when they’re done.

You’ll use one of my larger hearts and print it out onto red or pink cardstock.

Then, you’re going to take white computer paper and cut it into half-inch or inch-long strips. Have your kids start folding it up like an accordion; they’ll need three strips each.

They can draw faces onto the hearts or use googly eyes and draw a smile.

Then they’ll cut one of the strips in half – those will be the heart man’s arms. Cut out tiny hearts for the hands and feet and glue them onto one end of the strips.

Glue the other end of the strips to the back of the heart man.

5. Tissue Paper Hearts (Plus Picture Frame)

You’ll need at least four or five colors of tissue paper for this craft, which you are going to start by cutting into small squares and scrunching up into equal-sized bunches.

Then, you’ll print out a large heart onto cardstock and start gluing the tissue paper bunches onto the top, outlining the circle by color.

Before you start gluing down the tissue paper, however, you can first glue down a picture, then stop when the tissue paper bunches frame it.

4. Suncatchers

To make suncatchers, you’ll print out some of my larger hearts onto transparency paper.

Then, take small pieces of tissue paper and “fill in” the outline of the heart.

Once you’re done, you can cut it out, poke a little hole near the top, and tie off a piece of string by which you can hang your new suncatcher.

3. Picture Frame Hearts

For this craft, you’ll use Full or Half-Page Growing Hearts printed onto cardstock; you’ll cut along the second or third heart in (your choice) so that you’re left with a heart frame.

Then, you can paste a sweet picture from behind to the frame, poke a hole in the indent of the heart, and tie off a piece of ribbon to hang it with.

2. Strawberry Hearts

To make strawberry hearts, you can use any size pictures you like; you’ll just adjust the accessories’ sizes accordingly.

You’ll need green and black construction paper; on the green, you’ll draw the strawberry’s “cap,” and on the black, you’ll draw little teardrop shapes.

Cut those out and glue them onto the heart (which you’ll print out onto red cardstock or construction paper).

1. Heart Wreaths

For this craft, you’ll need a variety of heart sizes in pink, red, and purple, all cut out.

Take a larger circular plate and trace around it onto a piece of cardstock, then take a slightly smaller plate and trace around it within the larger circle.

Cut out the large circle, then the smaller one, so that you’re left with the wreath’s base.

You’re going to glue the hearts on, overlapping them until the entire base is filled.

Punch a hole near the top and tie off a piece of red or pink ribbon to hang the wreath with.
