10 Craft Ideas To Do With Thanksgiving Coloring Pages

Thanksgiving is a fun holiday for any child since it typically centers on delicious food.

If your youngster has colored many Thanksgiving Day scenes, try these great craft ideas to use up those finished pages.

1. Make a Thanksgiving Day Napkin Holder

This craft is amazingly easy, but it’s loads of fun for children of all ages. Begin with a simple, inexpensive plastic napkin holder.

Let the youngster color and cut out a turkey, cornucopia, pilgrims, or any other Thanksgiving-themed items from two coloring pages.

One should be glued to each side of the napkin holder with invisible glue, and the border should be decorated with orange and brown pom-poms.

One coat of acrylic spray seals in the artwork, and the child’s colorful napkin holder is ready for Thanksgiving!

2. A Fun Thanksgiving Day Pumpkin

This easy craft begins with ordinary orange construction paper and a green pipe cleaner.

Using a circular item, like the rim of a large cup, have the youngster trace four or five circles and cut them out with pinking shears.

The circles should be folded in half, one side glued to the next until they form a stack.

When the folded circles are un-fanned, add cutouts from multiple Thanksgiving Day coloring pages to each section. 

Finally, add green pipe cleaner “stems” for a cute ornament!

3. Make a Hilarious Silverware Holder

Begin this craft with an empty soup can, rinsed and dried. Have the child laminate it with a turkey cutout from a coloring page.

Wiggle eyes, an orange pom-pom nose and a red puffy paint mouth can be added for extra fun.

This super-easy craft is a terrific classroom activity. Give the children pieces of bright poster paper and have them fashion cones.

These should be stapled together rather than glued. Next, the cones are laminated with colorful pictures from the finished coloring pages.

Brown and orange tissue paper can be stuffed inside the cones, which are filled with candy corn. 

A covering of plastic wrap tied around the bottom with yellow yarn completes this tasty craft.

5. Paper Plate Cornucopia

Start this craft with a total of five ordinary paper plates spray-painted orange or gold with craft paint.

Next, have the youngster cut one of the plates into a cornucopia “tail” and then glue all the plates together in a fanned-out fashion, each one partially obscuring the next.

The final plate on the left should be the only completely visible plate since this is the cornucopia’s “mouth.” 

Laminate the plate with the youngster’s favorite Thanksgiving Day coloring page, and use orange yarn to hang up this colorful decoration.

6. Thanksgiving Day Welcome Banner

This craft is ideal for a classroom and starts with the students trimming their finished coloring pages into acorn or leaf shapes.

Use a hole punch on both sides in order to string them together.

The youngsters should then trace and cut out the letters that spell “Happy Thanksgiving,” and each coloring page cutout should be adorned with one letter.

When strung together, it becomes a beautiful Thanksgiving Day banner.

7. Funny Turkey Day Placeholders

To make these comical placeholders, have each youngster color a turkey, glue it to cardboard, cut it out, and add a construction paper beak and funny wiggle eyes.

Next, from yellow, red, and orange construction paper, have the child cut long strips, folding them and stapling the ends together.

These become “turkey feathers” when glued behind the cutout.

For this cute craft, have each youngster cut out ten corn cobs from yellow construction paper and glue them in a circle, pinwheel style.

They can then glue the Thanksgiving scene to the center of the corn cob “frame.”

The finished craft can be hung with a colorful piece of yarn and displayed for Thanksgiving.

9. Make a Hilarious Turkey Hat

For this comical craft, have each youngster finish two Thanksgiving coloring pages, one of which should be a turkey.

Next, make headbands from stiff cardboard, glue the turkey cutouts in their centers, and add giant eagle eyes. 

A red balloon dangling from the turkey’s chin is also a great addition.

The other coloring page should be cut into strips to fold all around the headband’s back edge like feathers.

This craft is perfect if your child’s coloring pages have really piled up! Have the youngster cut the finished pages into strips and “braid” them together.

Use a simple horizontal-vertical pattern, which doesn’t have to be any particular size.

Next, glue the braided pattern to a piece of brown construction paper, and cut fringes on the left and right sides.

Glue a cutout from another coloring page to the placemat’s center, seal the artwork in contact paper, and your child has a homemade placemat for Thanksgiving!
