Five Dhyani Buddhas
The Five Great Buddhas are a revered symbol in Buddhism, representing the five qualities of the Buddha. Each Buddha represents a unique aspect of the teachings and is believed to embody the essence of wisdom, compassion, and enlightenment.
The first of the Five Great Buddhas is Vairocana, who is considered the embodiment of the wisdom of practice. Vairocana is often depicted as sitting in the center of a mandala, surrounded by other Buddhas and deities.
This Buddha is believed to represent the ultimate realization of enlightenment and the oneness of all things.
The second Buddha is Akshobhya, who represents the wisdom of observation. This Buddha is often associated with the element of water and is said to have the power to transform negative emotions into wisdom. Akshobhya is depicted with a blue complexion and a serene expression, symbolizing his ability to remain calm and clear in the face of adversity.
The third Buddha is Ratnasambhava, who embodies the wisdom of quality. This Buddha is often associated with the element of earth and is believed to possess the power to transform greed into generosity.
Ratnasambhava is depicted with a golden complexion and is often depicted holding a wish-fulfilling jewel, symbolizing his ability to bring abundance and prosperity to those who follow his teachings.
The fourth Buddha is Amitabha, who represents the wisdom of reflection. This Buddha is often associated with the element of fire and is believed to have the power to transform attachment into wisdom.
