American Romanticism took place in the early-mid 1800’s, at about 1820 to 1860. William Blake is now known as one of the most prolific romantic poets, although in true artist fashion, he was widely misunderstood during his time. He was also a painter and an engraver. It’s said he had visions from a very early age, which likely inspired much of his work.
