10 Craft Ideas To Do With Alvin And The Chipmunks Coloring Pages
Coloring Alvin and the Chipmunks is popular at Christmas time and throughout the year.
Here are some affordable, easy crafts to do with those finished pages.
1. Alvin Brings the Gifts
Alvin or any of the chipmunks are perfect for this craft, and it works best with a page where the arms can be cut out separately.
When the chipmunk is colored and cut out, glue an empty bathroom tissue cardboard to the body, lengthwise, just under the head.
Then, glue the arms around the roll as if he’s holding it. Small squares should then be cut from colorful construction paper.
These can be glued at the top of the cardboard as if it’s a barrel filled with gifts. Complete the craft by adding two brown pom-poms as feet!
2. Autographed Pictures
For this cute craft, give each child three pieces of brown construction paper and a black marker to sign each of the chipmunks’ names at the bottoms of the pages.
Then, have the youngsters color each chipmunk, gluing them to the brown construction paper so that it looks like they’re framed.
Glue a simple strip of cardboard to the back, bend the bottom, and prop up these adorable “autographed photos” anywhere.
3. Chipmunks Puppets
Coloring pages featuring Alvin and his friends in full face are perfect for this craft. Give each youngster three ordinary brown paper bags.
Using three different colors of construction paper, have the children trace and cut out the initials of each chipmunk. These should be glued to the long portion of the bag.
When the chipmunks’ faces are colored and cut out, they should be glued to the bottom sections.
The youngsters can have fun anywhere with this unique set of puppets!
4. Hiding From Practice
Alvin and his friends are often late for music practice, and this fun craft gives them a perfect place to hide.
Since Alvin likes to have his head in the clouds, have the youngsters glue a layer of cotton balls to an ordinary white paper plate.
It should be attached to a second plate with a paper fastener so that the layer of cotton can be swept aside by pivoting the plate to the left or right.
Chipmunk cutouts from the finished pages can then be glued to the second paper plate so that the “clouds” can be rolled away to reveal the chipmunks in their hiding places.
5. Make Adorable Christmas Ornaments
This simple craft is great for small children and is very easy to make.
When the youngster has colored and cut out one or more chipmunk characters, they should be sealed in contact paper.
Using small pieces of red felt and white pom-poms, “Santa hats” can be added to the characters’ heads, and tiny jingle bells are glued or stapled to each chipmunk’s hand.
Fashion a red or green pipe cleaner into Alvin’s famous hula hoop, and hang these cute ornaments on the Christmas tree.
6. Measuring Fun
Youngsters love to get measured to see if they’re growing taller, and Alvin and his friends can be used to create a great measuring stick.
When all three characters are colored and cut out, they should be glued to an ordinary yardstick, one on top of the other.
Use black markers to write milestone heights in large numbers on the chipmunks’ hands, sort of like those signs at the amusement park telling you if you’re tall enough to ride!
7. Christmas Goodies Container Set
Since Alvin and the Chipmunks are a Christmas staple, why not use them to make a set of containers for holiday goodies?
Using ordinary containers found at any discount store, have the youngsters cut out each chipmunk separately from the same or different coloring pages.
One should be glued to each container and embellished with glitter, pom-poms, craft gems, or colored markers.
Puffy paint can be used to write which treat is in each container, and this cute set can be used all through the holidays.
8. Make Cute Chipmunk Masks
Youngsters can have a ball pretending to be Alvin or one of the other chipmunks by making these adorable masks.
Coloring pages featuring these critters in full face are ideal. Each youngster should color all three and affix them to thin cardboard with krazy glue before cutting them out.
Punch a hole on either side of each mask for a piece of elastic string, and these cute headpieces can be worn anywhere. Don’t forget to cut holes out for the eyes!
9. On Stage
Alvin and his backup singers are frequently on stage, and youngsters will enjoy creating an original platform for them.
Start with a shoebox, turn it upside down, and decorate it with cutouts from the various pages.
Then, all three chipmunks should be cut from additional pages, sealed in contact paper, and glued to popsicle sticks.
These should be pushed down through slits in the shoebox, and Alvin and his friends have their own unique stage.
10. Make a Creative Door Sign
For this easy craft, have each youngster color and cut out one each of all three chipmunks.
These should be glued to a piece of posterboard in the child’s favorite color.
The youngster should then trace and cut out his or her initials from construction paper, measuring them so that they’ll fit on the Chipmunks’ shirts.
When the letters are glued to the bodies of the cutouts, this cute craft can be used as a door sign featuring the chipmunks wearing the youngster’s initials, just like Alvin wears his!
