10 Craft Ideas To Do With Bearded Dragon Coloring Pages

Bearded dragons are fun and fascinating for all children.

If your youngster has colored lots of these interesting pages, try these simple, inexpensive crafts to put them to good use.

1. Cupcake Paper Fun

To make this interesting craft, color and cut out a bearded dragon and glue it to the side of an empty paper towel cardboard.

Then, hollow out the center of a cupcake wrapper, and slide it around the dragon’s head to appear as if he’s puffing out his beard.

Add wiggle eyes, a few pom-poms to the tail, and a piece of red pipe cleaner as a tongue, and the child has an adorable ornament for a desk or bureau.

2. Paper Cup Dragon Puppet

This craft is a terrific classroom activity, and requires only some styrofoam, a long piece of twine, and the coloring pages.

Have each youngster laminate one or two styrofoam cups with pieces of the finished pages. Next, they should poke a small hole in the bottom of the cups.

A long piece of twine can then be threaded through the cups, and wiggle eyes and a tissue paper tail added to the front and back.

The youngsters now have a giant bearded dragon puppet!

3. Easy Paper Swirl Craft

This craft is perfect for young children, and begins with the youngsters cutting their finished coloring pages into long strips, making three or four from each page.

These should be cut into a point at one end, and then the papers wrapped around a magic marker for a few seconds to create the shape of a curl.

Then, tiny tufts of red tissue paper can be added to the pointed ends as the “beards,” and holes punched at the other end.

Use yarn or string to attach these adorable dragons to an old embroidery hoop for a cute, mobile-style decoration.

4. Decorate Colored Pencils

This craft is a big hit with all children. Have the youngsters cut out their bearded dragons and fold them up, accordion style.

Use a hole punch to make holes through all the layers. Next, place a colored pencil through each “accordion” and then stretch the cutout back out.

The youngsters now have fancy colored pencils that look like bearded dragons!

5. Make a Comical Hat

Start this fun craft by having the youngsters fashion simple crowns from ordinary cardboard.

Then, have them color two bearded dragons, reinforcing them with cardboard before cutting them out.

The cutouts should be glued to the crowns, with their heads meeting in the middle at the front.

Red or yellow tissue paper creates a perfect “beard,” which can be allowed to hang down around the child’s face. All youngsters will love these hilarious hats.

6. Easy Lantern-Style Decorations

This easy craft is perfect for any age child. The youngsters should laminate empty paper towel cardboards with cutouts from their bearded dragon coloring pages.

They can do this decal-style or use the pages in their entirety.

Then, paper streamers should be glued to the inside of the rolls to flare out like the dragon’s beard.

7. Hands Off!

Bearded dragon coloring pages can be used to decorate a box in which to keep secret treasures. Give each youngster an ordinary craft box or pencil box.

Then, have them trace their handprints on colorful paper, cut them out, and glue them to the underside of the lid, so that when it’s flipped up, the cutouts are standing straight up.

8. Fun With Fancy Toothpicks

This adorable craft is super easy, and requires only some fancy toothpicks, big wiggle eyes, and a colorful piece of yarn.

When the bearded dragon is colored, the page should be embellished by gluing fancy toothpicks, upside down, all along the edge of the dragon’s beard.

Then, the youngsters can add big wiggle eyes, and even tiny tufts of red tissue paper as tongues. 

The rest of the page can be made fancy with glitter and puffy paint, and the entire ensemble placed inside an inexpensive frame for fancy, 3D wall art.

9. Make a Funny Bearded Dragon Centerpiece

To make this cute craft, give each youngster an empty, small plastic soda bottle with the label soaked off.

It can be filled with aquarium sand, tiny pebbles, or anything similar. It can also simply be stuffed with colorful tissue paper.

When the bearded dragon is colored and cut out, glue it to the bottle, with the head at the bottle’s opening.

Add a bright colored cupcake wrapper as the dragon’s beard. Pipe cleaners stapled to pom-poms make hilarious “feet.” Keep this adorable dragon on a desk or bureau. 

10. Make a Unique Flower Pot

Begin this craft by having the youngster cut several dragons from the finished pages, and gluing them around the top lip of a terra cotta flower pot.

Then, the dragons’ beards can be embellished with tiny leaves cut from construction paper. 

Because the beards of these reptiles often resemble leaves, this is an ideal way to decorate them. 

Use lots of different colors, and seal the artwork with acrylic spray for a unique decorative flower pot!
